A Place of Refuge During the Rainy Season
Malawi’s climate is broadly defined by two seasons: wet and dry. The rainy season, December until late March, can bring some quite serious flooding and right now Jonathan and our team in Malawi could use our prayers!
There are students at the school who have had their homes completely collapse due to the continuous rain. Many structures in the area that have not been built utilizing cement have a high risk of collapse. Please pray for the homes that are still standing but vulnerable and the families who have lost everything would find suitable accommodations and that God would provide for their needs.
Our school buildings are solid and mostly undamaged- praise God. While the cemented floors have stayed dry, some unfinished areas are still damp. The biggest obstacle is that the current latrines that were being used by staff and students (along with the 10 boarding students) have been damaged by flooding, rendering them unusable. This is a big challenge as classes are still in session and students are wrapping up with exams before a two week break.
Your gift of $50, $500, $5000 (or more) will help these immediate needs and future capacity to serve this beauitful community.
Pray with us that the school buildings would be a sanctuary for those who have lost everything and that Jonathan and his team would be blessed with the means to purchase 10 more bags of cement and 8 doors to complete the current latrines. They are so close!
We are in awe of the rapid progress in Malawi. This project is a direct reflection of the power of hard work, determination, and the hand of the Lord! The vision of the school is “To help students realize and pursue their full potential and see individuals and communities transformed for the glory of God through generations of educated and equipped servant-leaders.”. We can clearly see this in action so early on and we can’t wait to see what the future holds with plans of a feeding program, water project, hostels, clinic, chapel, and more!
